Metacam Oral Suspension for Dogs contains Meloxicam, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), licensed to treat pain & inflammation associated with both acute & chronic musculoskeletal conditions in the dog.
It also is antipyretic (lowers fevers), anti-endotoxic, anti-exudative & has a low ulcerogenic potential. It works by inhibiting the body from synthesising prostaglandins, which facilitate pain & trigger inflammatory processes & pyrogens (substances which cause a fever).
It can be administered directly into the dogs mouth or mixed up in a small feed.
This product requires a prescription from your vet & will only be dispatched once we receive this prescription.

Warnings & Contraindications- Do not use in dogs allergic to meloxicam, under 6 weeks old, with gastrointestinal disorders or reduced liver, heart or kidney function or bleeding disorders. Do not give within 24 hours of giving another NSAID or corticosteroid, please contact your vet or our helpline if unsure. Do not give to animals that are dehydrated, not eating or that are vomiting.
Pregnancy & Lactation- Do not use in dogs that are pregnant or lactating
This item is a prescription medication and cannot be sent until a valid prescription is received. Please note, we only accept prescriptions written by vets registered in the UK with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
